ricepalaces:

I’m currently stalking my old school’s website and found this picture of my 10th grade class on a retreat.
I plan to visit in one week for the Christmas Concert. It will be fun.

Rice! if you visit can I come!?!?!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
I can bring a little fake shotgun!

Pros and Cons

I actually felt like I was going to faint in Nordstrom Rack today.
Part of me wanted to because I would probably get something nice for free if I did. The majority of my troubled mind urged me not to, however, because only a pussy would faint in Nordstrom Rack. If I faint, it’d better be during a dirt bike race. Or a duel.
I still feel really light-headed. I think my hemoglobin is going down because I have literally been living off of dried mango and peanut butter/banana sandwiches. Not enough iron so I’m keeling over everywhere. It’s also partially because I’m vegan…On the plus side, I can never be coerced into giving blood because they actually refuse to accept my weak, weak bodily fluid.
I’m a bit sad that Peets is nonexistent here (we all know what coffee chain is top dog here). Now I am all for Starbucks, but they have no vegan snacks and the beauty of their dominance is downgraded. I went into the original Starbucks today and got a ridiculously over-priced green tea latte. It was the greenest green tea product I have ever laid eyes on, which made the price seem strangely justifiable…
Also, whilst looking for a record store out on Capitol Hill, I picked up a giant pinata “4” from the trash and carried it around town all day. Everyone stared at it a lot, but after a while I forgot that it existed. Eventually I went to this ‘punk rock fleamarket’ and traded it for these oldie glasses. Then I ran back to the hostel because my toe had frozen into a funny shape and I naturally assumed that I had frostbite.
Now if I feel like I can stand to walk and function, I may go to the Doc Marten’s store to drool…or maybe I’ll just go to Urban. I need coffee or something though because I’m still very, very dizzy and stuff. What foods counterract the negative effects of anemia?
Also, I have yet to go to EMP because that Iowa man who invited me was too busy knocking back a few. Hey, remind me when I get back to go directly to Rasputin to find a copy of “Two Gallants” because it is nowhere in this city. Thumbs down.

From the Green Tortoise, with Love

Today I visited Cornish College of the Arts, the school that I plan to attend next year. I was so impressed with the illustration courses that I changed my intended major to design. I have to make a deviantart account in order to do my portfolio review now, so expect a link as soon as I get back.
It was so freezing today. I thought that the sky was going to swallow me whole. I literally ran all over town, looking up events on the internet and trying to catch them in time, searching for great gifts, and shopping on Capitol Hill. I ran into this amazing shop after I visited this great gallery. The shop featured an extensive collection of vintage postcards that I looked at forever and ever. Most had beeen written on but the shop owner had uncovered them from friends and associates. They were usually post-marked around 1910-1920. The owner was nice enough to cut me a break and give me one for free.
I’d advise you, nonexistent reader, to stay in a hostel in the event that you ever need to travel for uber cheap. My hostel has a small accumulation of free food which I have been ransacking. It saves boatloads of money when one lives off of peanut butter sandwiches and generic tea (and is substantially less tempted to walk into every Starbucks on the block). Rice, I mailed you a postcard. Quite mysteriously, I have memorized your address (not sure how this happened as I still cannot remember my own phone number). I’m planning on hitting up a few events tomorrow. Contrary to popular belief, nightlife is a bore but that’s mostly because I’m uber broke and am not 21. Still I would appreciate a show or some sort of great entertainment.
Lastly, this man who looked an awful lot like Simon Pegg sat next to me today. He had the accent and everything. He quite enjoyed SF when he travelled there, and he was quite nice but I was too awkward to carry on any sort of conversation. Expect more tedious updates soon,

Leave me your address.

Y is for..."y cnt i thnk of a new alphabet thing, omg!"

I can’t think of anything important that goes with the letter “Y.” I have thought about it for weeks!
I have an aunt named Yolanda???
(Not good enough, true.)
I am hardly in the position to be thinking of this now. I’m in this cute little hostel right smack-dab in the middle of Pike’s Place, I’m serious. It’s crowded with bums and has some excellent lighting. Someone is playing a TAI album in the kitchen which is just weird because who the fuck actually buys TAI albums? And these guys are talking about how much they like Panic at the Disco…What the fuck? So many odd people in this world…these guys have to be like, mid-twenties.
Before I go, do you know what I really like about being an adult? Now, obviously it really, really sucks and is only going to get worse, but I thoroughly enjoy getting tattoos and piercings without permission and travelling without the extra bullshit.
Guess what???? ALL SEATTLE MUSEUMS ARE FREE TONIGHT!
Gonna sketch, slata.’

Northern Downpour - Panic At The Disco

Astronomy viewing at school tonight. I’ll be singing this song in my head.

As I’ve said many times in life, I am semi-ashamed to have liked this band a lot, but I love this song. This song is beautiful. And it always will be.

If you're reading this...that means that I'm already dead...

No, just joking.

(…Sorry ‘bout that…)

ANYWAY!

I am off tomorrow and will be for the next three to four days. Though I technically only need to be out of state for less than a day, I am going  on an adventure from Thursday to Sunday.

It will be in the forties in Seattle.

I have only experienced weather that cold once in my life (Yosemite people…I was about seven).

California has spoiled me, especially this calm, Oakland weather…(The best weather in the country!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fourth-highest crime rate, but still!!!!!!!!)

Seriously though, I freak out if it’s going to be 62 degrees here. Just how will I put up with the fucking Pacific Northwest???? Now I see why some people want to live at home, go to Merritt College, then get a job downtown. Easy, mild weather is the reason.

Personally, I’d rather go to Laney. And get a job Uptown, of course. But maybe I will shoot you some updates from my hostel. Off to re-watch Arrested Development!
